Retrospective

July 16, 2009
Blog  ·  Portraits

When I photographed my parents, I thought about the life they have lead and what their legacy is/will be.  After taking these pictures I really took a long look at my life and what I can do to make it mean more.

Disclaimer: My parents really do not like that I have put them on the internet, lol. My dad was a few days out from a surgery and was in pain so he didn’t like these shots at all. I love them because there was a sense of vulnerability about them. As a child, you view your parents as invincible. When you get older, the harsh reality is that they aren’t invincible and may need you to take care of them one day. Life is definitely a trip, but you take it for the good and the bad.
